Their games. Our lives.
Power plays.
People pay.
This piece is about the grotesque theatre of power — where leaders treat war like sport, and lives like disposable tokens in a game they’ll never personally have to play. The stage is dressed up with spectacle and competition, but behind it lies nothing but ruin for those caught in between.
The “Olympics” here are not about strength or unity, but about elites showing off who can push further, faster, deadlier — while the scoreboard tallies up the cost in nameless lives. It’s satire, but also accusation: when destruction becomes entertainment for the powerful, the rest of us are left as unwilling participants in their contest.
I wanted the style to feel playful and familiar, almost comic, because that’s how absurd it really is — the deadliest games in history carried out with the same careless attitude as if they were chasing trophies.
